The Great Outdoors

RAting Michigan Parks

Michigan is home to amazing people and places...and is currently suffering from the economy. But families are still in need of entertainment and time together. That's why we've started this blog: to motivate families to use their time together to get outside, explore this great state of ours, and have fun without spending a nickel.

More than anything, time spent having fun with your family creates beautiful memories and traditions that can be carried on for generations. Enrich your lives. Go outside and PLAY!

Patriarch Park

Corner of Saginaw and Alton Road
East Lansing, MI
Across the street from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and School

What we Like about Patriarch Park:
* Huge Playground (wooden)
* 4 baby swings
* Toddler Playground
* Unusual structures
* Great for obstacle course
* Wooden playground is fenced in
* Several other playgrounds within park
* Baseball diamond
* Trails
* Letterboxing
* Decent bathrooms
* Picnic Tables
* The wooden playground is nicely shaded.

What we Don't Like:
* Nothing

Note: There are sign up stating that the park is going to be re-built in September. Several moms were wondering why? It seems perfectly fine as is.
